Sustainable and circular
It will come as no surprise: sustainability and circularity are in our DNA and form the basis for Kartent with our unique cardboard festival tent as cardboard hero. For us, sustainability stands for environmentally conscious design, creative reuse and minimizing waste. In addition, we strive to reuse materials as much as possible: for example, a stool may have previously served as a trade fair wall and we encourage reuse as much as possible.
Cardboard is naturally circular because it is made from renewable raw materials such as wood fibre and can be recycled well. After use, cardboard can easily be collected, processed and converted back into new cardboard products without losing its quality.
This process can be repeated multiple times, making cardboard a sustainable and circular material that fits perfectly within a circular economy. In addition, cardboard is biodegradable, which means that if it does accidentally end up in nature, it will not cause long-term environmental damage.
When we think of sustainability, we think of the entire life cycle of a product, compared to a comparable 'linear' alternative. For example, plastic has a significantly higher ecological footprint during production than cardboard.
Based on our mission and vision, we are committed to:
