Cardboard is surprisingly sturdy and can withstand quite a bit of wear and tear! Some products can be left outside for short periods in dry weather, but prolonged exposure to rain and moisture will weaken the cardboard. If you do want to use it outside, make sure it's in a dry place or covered to extend its lifespan.

In principle, any paint can be used. However, be careful: water-based paint can get too wet, causing the cardboard to warp.
