Cardboard Tables for Studio Desk

Studio Bureau, a creative agency that focuses on visual design and communication, faced a challenge: developing tables for the Future Campus exhibition during the Education Days 2024. Commissioned by SURF, an organization that promotes innovation in education, they wanted making tables from cardboard instead of wood, to save costs while creating a more manageable product. This idea fits perfectly with their mission to develop powerful, sustainable and creative concepts. Custom-made Cardboard Tables The tables had to match the exhibition aesthetically and be functional for a special interactive experience. Visitors could use AR technology via a QR code on the tables to see a 3D figure that took them through the future of education. The tables themselves had to be sturdy enough to support the weight of using the technology, and the design also had to allow for branding with custom prints. After consultation with Studio Bureau, we custom-produced the tables using re-board cardboard, a lightweight but sturdy choice of material. Thanks to a clever addition of a triangular reinforcement in the middle, the tables received extra stability. This system provided the perfect solution to the need for a sturdier construction without sacrificing the lightweight, durable nature of cardboard.
