De duurzame opties voor jou!

The sustainable options for you!

We love to give everyone a push in the sustainable direction. In this blog we show sustainable alternatives for the most obvious brands of commonly used products.

Shampoo

Shampoo is a product that we use daily. In addition to the plastic packaging, which is of course unnecessary and not sustainable, a lot of shampoo is often wasted. The soaps from Happy Soaps are a plastic-free and consciously sustainable choice. During production, storage and shipping, not a gram of plastic is used. In addition, you waste very little of the shampoo itself because you take it directly from the block, a great alternative!

Coffee

About 80% of the Dutch drink coffee daily! A large part of them drink coffee from aluminum capsules. This is very harmful to the environment because when aluminum is extracted, a toxic red mud is created that cannot be broken down or processed further. The most important ore in aluminum is bauxite, the extraction of which leads to deforestation. And then we haven't even mentioned those mountains of used coffee capsules (5000 tons per year!), which take up to 200 years to break down.

De Koffie Jongens came up with a solution for this! They make coffee capsules from biodegradable materials. This means that the capsules are soluble in the soil and can simply be disposed of with the organic waste after use. Your plants will also grow better because the coffee is converted into super nutritious compost.

Laundry detergent

To look fresh every day, we use a product that is quite harmful to the environment. The most commonly used detergents consist of synthetic fragrances and dyes, petroleum-based cleaners and microplastics. 'That can be done better' thought Seepje , among others . This detergent consists of 99.8% natural ingredients. But if you want to be completely environmentally friendly, Seepje also has washing peels from the Sapindus mukorossi fruits from the Himalayas. These peels release natural soap when the peels come into contact with water!

Hopefully we have inspired you to choose the more sustainable option. But do your own research, because these are not all brands that offer a sustainable solution.
