Frequently asked questions about cardboard
The myths about cardboard debunked!
Is cardboard strong enough? What if it gets wet? And how sustainable is it actually? We get these questions often and time to remove all doubts once and for all. As far as we are concerned, cardboard is the material of the future!
Firmness
When you think of cardboard, do you immediately think of flimsy shipping boxes? Think again! There are countless types of cardboard, and we only use the strongest. Our furniture, lamps and toys are made of corrugated cardboard . This consists of several layers and offers a surprising amount of carrying capacity. We even make some products from honeycomb cardboard , which is just as strong as wood! Perfect for large cabinets or even a crib.
Want proof? We’ve had people jump on our cardboard furniture and even run a car over our cardboard bed. You can check it out here!
Waterproof?
A little water? No problem! Thanks to its many layers, cardboard does not immediately absorb moisture. Corrugated cardboard has open sides, which allow water to seep in a little more easily, but it will survive a rain shower just fine.
In fact, our KarTent went through a car wash. And yes, it just stayed there! We are more than happy to share these images!
Sustainability
Cardboard is not only strong and versatile, but also super durable. It is biodegradable, which means that it will naturally decompose when it ends up in nature (although we prefer to see it in the old paper). Furthermore, cardboard consists of 73% recycled material and is simply made in the Netherlands from sustainable raw materials such as paper and wood fibers.
So, convinced?
Hopefully all your doubts have disappeared and you now believe in the magic of cardboard as much as we do. Do you have any questions? Check our FAQ page or send us a message. We are happy to help you!
